15,000 square foot auditorium, meeting rooms and restaurant located just a few steps from the beach.  The auditorium space can accommodate up to 300 people and can be totally enclosed for a quiet theater atmosphere, or opened to the exterior to extend the space into the courtyard.  HVAC systems were selected to meet the acoustical requirements as well as defend against the salt air.   A multi-functional lighting control system accommodates any function of the auditorium and meeting rooms.   Construction was already underway when UCSD implemented their new LEED®-certification goals.  But because the building and MEP systems were originally designed to be energy efficient, LEED® certification was achieved after completion.
